As you have already probably noticed, we are a family of 3 with a corgi, and we love going on a nice stroll. Yesterday, we happened to pass by a small memorial museum which was 山本 有三 (Yamamoto, Yuzo)’s house in 三鷹 (Mitaka).
He was a famous writer who was mainly active in the 1920s and 30s, and he wrote his famous novel 路傍の石 (Robo no Ishi, meaning a stone by the roadside) at this Western-style house that was built close to the end of the Taisho era (1912 – 1926). An advocate of literacy, especially amongst children, a part of his house served as a kids’ public library during World War II.
As you can see in the photos, it’s a very small museum, but a nice place to stop by if you need a quick break since there are a lot of places to sit, plus you learn something new 🙂 Therefore, we decided to go in and take a look.
