360° in Kichijoji shopping district in Tokyo (吉祥寺駅前の商店街)

Kichijoji has been voted as the number 1 neighbourhood people in Japan wish to live in since 2004, and with good reason. It’s got a great variety of shops in its 商店街 (shoutengai, outdoor shopping street) area, most of the big-name Japanese department stores (along w/ family-friendly areas), not to mention, 井の頭公園 (Inokashira-koen, Inokashira park) is just a stone’s throw away.

In this video, we stroll through the outdoor shopping streets (notice that there is overhead cover so you can shop even when it rains) with Myla. We took this on a Sunday, so the streets are a bit more crowded than on weekdays, but it is nowhere as claustrophobic as places closer to central Tokyo.
