To the east of the shopping street leading to Nakano Broadway is 中野ふれあいロード北商店会 (Nakano Fureai road, which literally translated, “getting to know each other” road).

It’s much more than just one street though; it’s more like a maze of small streets that consists of a variety of pubs, restaurants, izakayas, ramen joints, you name it. If you’ve been to ハーモニカ横丁 in Kichijoji (or seen it in our other post); imagine a place that’s got a bit more breathing room, isn’t covered overhead, and with 5-7 times the area and number of shops. It’s a great place to hang out with friends and place bets on where your last stop for the night will be.

We filmed this during the day, so it’s hard to tell, but the place is a LOT more lively at night (you can probably tell by the kind of shops you see 😉 )
